0b72631a82 cmd/compile: generate args_stackmap for ABI0 assembly func regardless of linkname
Currently, the compiler generates the argument stack map based on
the function signature for bodyless function declarations, if it
is not linknamed. The assumption is that linknamed function is
provided by (Go code in) another package, so its args stack map
will be generated when compiling that package.

Now we have linknames added to declarations of assembly functions,
to signal that this function is accessed externally. Examples
include runtime.morestack_noctxt, math/big.addVV. In the current
implementation the compiler does not generate its args stack map.
That causes the assembly function's args stack map missing.
Instead, change it to generate the stack map if it is a
declaration of an ABI0 function, which can only be defined in
assembly and passed to the compiler through the -symabis flag. The
stack map generation currently only works with ABI0 layout anyway,
so we don't need to handle ABIInternal assembly functions.

18d0e6a14f cmd/compile, cmd/internal: fine-grained fiddling with loop alignment
This appears to be useful only on amd64, and was specifically
benchmarked on Apple Silicon and did not produce any benefit there.
This CL adds the assembly instruction `PCALIGNMAX align,amount`
which aligns to `align` if that can be achieved with `amount`
or fewer bytes of padding. (0 means never, but will align the
enclosing function.)

Specifically, if low-order-address-bits + amount are
greater than or equal to align; thus, `PCALIGNMAX 64,63` is
the same as `PCALIGN 64` and `PCALIGNMAX 64,0` will never
emit any alignment, but will still cause the function itself
to be aligned to (at least) 64 bytes.

This CL reorganizes the top-level functions for handling package-level

b46e44a399 cmd/compile: enable deadcode of unreferenced large global maps
This patch changes the compiler's pkg init machinery to pick out large
initialization assignments to global maps (e.g.

   var mymap = map[string]int{"foo":1, "bar":2, ... }

and extract the map init code into a separate outlined function, which is
then called from the main init function with a weak relocation:

   var mymap map[string]int   // KEEP reloc -> map.init.0

   func init() {
      map.init.0() // weak relocation
   }

   func map.init.0() {
     mymap = map[string]int{"foo":1, "bar":2}
   }

The map init outlining is done selectively (only in the case where the
RHS code exceeds a size limit of 20 IR nodes).

In order to ensure that a given map.init.NNN function is included when
its corresponding map is live, we add dummy R_KEEP relocation from the
map variable to the map init function.

This first patch includes the main compiler compiler changes, and with
the weak relocation addition disabled. Subsequent patch includes the
requred linker changes along with switching to the call to the
outlined routine to a weak relocation. See the later linker change for
associated compile time performance numbers.

33738ddd0a cmd/compile: eagerly create LSym for closures
The linker needs FuncInfo metadata for all inlined functions. This is
typically handled by gc.enqueueFunc calling ir.InitLSym for all function
declarations in typecheck.Target.Decls (ir.UseClosure adds all closures
to Decls).

However, non-trivial closures in Decls are ignored, and are insteaded
enqueued when walk of the calling function discovers them.

This presents a problem for direct calls to closures. Inlining will
replace the entire closure definition with its body, which hides the
closure from walk and thus suppresses symbol creation.

Explicitly create a symbol early in this edge case to ensure we keep
this metadata.

InitLSym needs to move out of ssagen to avoid a circular dependency (it
doesn't have anything to do with ssa anyway). There isn't a great place
for it, so I placed it in ir, which seemed least objectionable.

The added test triggers one of these inlined direct non-trivial closure
calls, though the test needs CL 429637 to fail, which adds a FuncInfo
assertion to the linker. Note that the test must use "run" instead of
"compile" since the assertion is in the linker, and "compiler" doesn't
run the linker.

Fixes #54959.

2ff5fbfbd4 cmd/compile: limit goroutine count to parallelism
When the compiler crashes, it is not uncommon to see many hundreds
of goroutines all blocked waiting their turn to be one of the nWorkers
goroutines that is allowed to run. All these goroutine stacks are not a
terribly efficient use of memory, and they also make the crash dumps
hard to read.

Introduce a manager goroutine to hand out work to at most nWorker
goroutines, maintaining pending work in a local slice, rather than
having all those blocked goroutines hanging around waiting to run.

5203357eba cmd/compile: make non-concurrent compiles deterministic again
Spreading function compilation across multiple goroutines results in
non-deterministic output. This is how cmd/compile has historically
behaved for concurrent builds, but is troublesome for non-concurrent
builds, particularly because it interferes with "toolstash -cmp".

I spent some time trying to think of a simple, unified algorithm that
can concurrently schedule work but gracefully degrades to a
deterministic build for single-worker builds, but I couldn't come up
with any. The simplest idea I found was to simply abstract away the
operation of scheduling work so that we can have alternative
deterministic vs concurrent modes.

f97983249a [dev.regabi] cmd/compile: move more PAUTOHEAP to SSA construction
This CL moves almost all PAUTOHEAP handling code to SSA construction.
Instead of changing Names to PAUTOHEAP, escape analysis now only sets
n.Esc() to ir.EscHeap, and SSA handles creating the "&x"
pseudo-variables and associating them via Heapaddr.

This CL also gets rid of n.Stackcopy, which was used to distinguish
the heap copy of a parameter used within a function from the stack
copy used in the function calling convention. In practice, this is
always obvious from context: liveness and function prologue/epilogue
want to know about the stack copies, and everywhere else wants the
heap copy.

Hopefully moving all parameter/result handling into SSA helps with
making the register ABI stuff easier.

Also, the only remaining uses of PAUTOHEAP are now for closure
variables, so I intend to rename it to PCLOSUREVAR or get rid of those
altogether too. But this CL is already big and scary enough.

skipping the redundant, separate compilation of function literals that

432f9ffb11 [dev.regabi] cmd/compile: unindent compileFunctions
No real code changes. Just splitting into a separate CL so the next
one is easier to review.

cc90e7a51e [dev.regabi] cmd/compile: always use the compile queue
The compiler currently has two modes for compilation: one where it
compiles each function as it sees them, and another where it enqueues
them all into a work queue. A subsequent CL is going to reorder
function compilation to ensure that functions are always compiled
before any non-trivial function literals they enclose, and this will
be easier if we always use the compile work queue.

Also, fewer compilation modes makes things simpler to reason about.
