If there are multiple files in a subdirectory that are candidates for
completion, only complete the common directory prefix to reduce the number of
completion candidates shown at once.
This matches the normal shell completion of file paths.
This is heavily based on Benjamin Tan's fish completions:
https://gist.github.com/bnjmnt4n/9f47082b8b6e6ed2b2a805a1516090c8
Some differences include:
- The end of a `--from`, `--to` ranges is also considered.
- `jj log` is not completed (yet). It has a different `--revisions` argument
that requires some special handling.
These flags only apply to line-based diffs. This is easy, and seems still useful
to highlight whitespace changes (that could be ignored by line diffing.)
I've added short options only to "diff"-like commands. It seemed unclear if
they were added to deeply-nested commands such as "op log".
Closes#3781
Deprecation warnings will be printed there. auto_tracking_matcher(ui) could
be cached, but there aren't many callers right now, so it should be okay to
parse and emit warnings for each invocation. Other than that, the changes are
straightforward.
It seems everyone agrees that `obslog` is not an intuitive name. There
was some discussion about alternatives in #3592 and on #4146. The
alternatives included `evolution`, `evolutionlog`, `evolog`,
`rewritelog`, `revlog`, and `changelog`. It seemed like
`evolution-log`/`evolog` was the most popular option. That also
matches the command's current help text ("Show how a change has
evolved over time").
Suppose a squash node in obslog is analogous to a merge in revisions log, it
makes sense to show diffs from auto-merge (or auto-squash) parents. This
basically means a non-partial squash node no longer shows diffs.
This also fixes missing diffs at the root predecessors if there were.
The width parameter is mandatory so it wouldn't fall back to ui.term_width() by
mistake. The API is getting messy and we might want to extract some parameters
to separate struct.
Fixes#4158
I've added a wrapper struct in order to get around too many arguments warning.
It captures &dyn Repo as CommitTemplateLanguage would do. OTOH, &Ui is passed
by argument because the caller might need &mut Ui after the renderer object was
configured.
What make rebase_to_dest_parent a good candidate for jj_lib::rewrite module:
- It is used both in obslog and interdiff. It's a sign that it may be moved to a lower layer
- CommandError is returned by converting from TreeMergeError. Not explicitly.
- It only use jj_lib::rewrite fonctions.
