cdcc777730 tests: migrate snapshot users of jj_cmd_success() to run_jj_in()
These callers were mostly substituted mechanically, then fixed up minor
formatting and name errors.

a54165230a tests: add CommandOutputString wrapper
I'm going to add "[EOF]" marker to test that command output is terminated by
newline char. This patch ensures that callers who expect a raw output string
would never be affected by any normalization passes.

Some common normalization functions are extracted as CommandOutputString
methods.

00f87a2846 cli: untrack remote bookmarks on bookmark forget
Forgetting remote bookmarks can lead to surprising behavior since it
causes the repo state to become out-of-sync with the remote until the
next `jj git fetch`. Untracking the bookmarks should be a simpler and
more intuitive default behavior. The old behavior is still available
with the `--include-remotes` flag.

I also changed the displayed number of forgotten branches. Previously
when forgetting "bookmark", "bookmark@remote", and "bookmark@git" it
would display `Forgot 1 bookmarks`, but I think this would be confusing
with the new flag since the user might think that `--include-remotes`
didn't work. Now it shows separate `Forgot N local bookmarks` and
`Forgot M remote bookmarks` messages when applicable.

dd73b5ab7d bookmarks: First step to make target revision a required argument to bookmark create/move/set.
With this change a warning is shown if the user does not explicitly specify the target revision, but the behavior is unchanged (it still defaults to the working copy).
In the future the warning will be turned into an error. In other words, it will be required to specify target revision.

The bulk of the changes here are to prepare tests for the upcoming change, to make the transition easier.

e6a51d6637 git: add dummy conflict to index if necessary
If the parent tree contains conflicts, we want the index to also contain
a conflict to ensure that the use can't accidentally commit conflict
markers using `git commit`. Since we can't represent conflicts with more
than 2 sides in the Git index, we need to add a dummy conflict in this
case. We use ".jj-do-not-resolve-this-conflict" as the dummy conflict to
indicate to the user that they should not attempt to resolve this
conflict using Git.

42b390bbc4 git: use merged parent tree for git index
Instead of setting the index to match the tree of HEAD, we now set the
index to the merged parent tree of the working copy commit. This means
that if you edit a merge commit, it will make the Git index look like it
would in the middle of a `git merge` operation (with all of the
successfully-merged files staged in the index).

If there are any 2-sided conflicts in the merged parent tree, then they
will be added to the index as conflicts. Since Git doesn't support
conflicts with more than 2 sides, many-sided conflicts are staged as the
first side of the conflict. The following commit will improve this.

e7618449ec templates: make op_summary more readable
Added colons to make it seem less like an English sentence, see
https://github.com/martinvonz/jj/pull/4602#discussion_r1791295776

I believe printing both the start and end times is excessive for a
summary. For now, I have it print just the start time for consistency.
I intend to change it to print the ending time later.

I was a bit torn on whether to use `format_timestamp(self.time().start())`
or `self.time().start().ago()`. The latter looks better, but is less
configurable and worse for dates long ago. In the future, we could add a
`format_op_summary_timestamp` function and/or a template function that
uses `.ago()` for recent dates and absolute dates for old dates.

ae62b5b946 repo: teach OpStore about the root commit id
This removes an invalid View state from the root operation.

Note that the root index will have to be reindexed in order to resolve "root()"
in the root operation. I don't think this would practically matter, so this
patch doesn't bump the index version to invalidate the existing indexes.

d9c68e08b1 everything: Rename branches to bookmarks
Jujutsu's branches do not behave like Git branches, which is a major
hurdle for people adopting it from Git. They rather behave like
Mercurial's (hg) bookmarks.

We've had multiple discussions about it in the last ~1.5 years about this rename in the Discord,
where multiple people agreed that this _false_ familiarity does not help anyone. Initially we were
reluctant to do it but overtime, more and more users agreed that `bookmark` was a better for name
the current mechanism. This may be hard break for current `jj branch` users, but it will immensly
help Jujutsu's future, by defining it as our first own term. The `[experimental-moving-branches]`
config option is currently left alone, to force not another large config update for
users, since the last time this happened was when `jj log -T show` was removed, which immediately
resulted in breaking users and introduced soft deprecations.

This name change will also make it easier to introduce Topics (#3402) as _topological branches_
with a easier model.

This was mostly done via LSP, ripgrep and sed and a whole bunch of manual changes either from
me being lazy or thankfully pointed out by reviewers.

bafb357209 git: on abandoning unreachable commits, don't count HEAD ref
This basically reverts 20eb9ecec10f "git: don't abandon HEAD commit when it
loses a branch." I think the new behavior is more consistent because the Git
HEAD is equivalent to @- in jj, so it shouldn't be considered a named ref.

Note that we've made old HEAD branch not considered at 92cfffd84377 "git: on
external HEAD move, do not abandon old branch."

a5095c1da6 cli: show commit summary at end of "branch create"
For the same reason as cdc0cc360162. This will help notice problems like wrong
target revision.

The warning for multiple branches is reorganized as a hint for "-r" option,
which I think is the main purpose of this warning. Unlike "squash", we don't
check if an argument can be parsed as a revset because branch name is usually
a valid symbol expression.

034859b52f cli: branch: print stats even if just one branch is updated
We usually print stats at the end of mutable operation, and I think these
messages are useful even if N = 1. I understand that "Deleted N" (N > 1) is
unusual and the original intent of these messages was to signal possible
mistakes. However, I don't think printing N=1 stats would nullify the original
purpose.

No emptiness check is needed for delete/forget, but names can be empty in
track/untrack because of noop changes.

1eebbe57c0 commit_builder: reset author timestamp on discardable commits
It's common to create empty working-copy commits while using jj, and
currently the author timestamp for a commit is only set when it is first
created. If you create an empty commit, then don't work on a repo for a
few days, and then start working on a new feature without abandoning the
working-copy commit, the author timestamp will remain as the time the
commit was created rather than being updated to the time that work began
or finished.

This commit changes the behavior so that discardable commits (empty
commits with no description) by the current user have their author
timestamps reset when they are rewritten, meaning that the author
timestamp will become finalized whenever a commit is given a description
or becomes non-empty.

4478055e1d cli: don't abandon non-discardable old wc commit by import_git_head()
Perhaps, the original intent was to abandon non-empty working-copy commit
assuming it was rewritten by git (therefore it should be superseded by the
current working-copy content.) However, there are other reasons that could
make the HEAD out of sync (including concurrent jj operations), and abandoning
non-empty commit can be a disaster. This patch turns it to safer side, and let
user abandon non-empty commit manually.

d66fcf2ca0 compile integration tests as a single binary
this greatly speeds up the time to run all tests, at the cost of slightly larger recompile times for individual tests.

this unfortunately adds the requirement that all tests are listed in `runner.rs` for the crate.
to avoid forgetting, i've added a new test that ensures the directory is in sync with the file.

 ## benchmarks

before this change, recompiling all tests took 32-50 seconds and running a single test took 3.5 seconds:

```
; hyperfine 'touch lib/src/lib.rs && cargo t --test test_working_copy'
  Time (mean ± σ):      3.543 s ±  0.168 s    [User: 2.597 s, System: 1.262 s]
  Range (min … max):    3.400 s …  3.847 s    10 runs
```

after this change, recompiling all tests take 4 seconds:
```
;  hyperfine 'touch lib/src/lib.rs ; cargo t --test runner --no-run'
  Time (mean ± σ):      4.055 s ±  0.123 s    [User: 3.591 s, System: 1.593 s]
  Range (min … max):    3.804 s …  4.159 s    10 runs
```
and running a single test takes about the same:
```
; hyperfine 'touch lib/src/lib.rs && cargo t --test runner -- test_working_copy'
  Time (mean ± σ):      4.129 s ±  0.120 s    [User: 3.636 s, System: 1.593 s]
  Range (min … max):    3.933 s …  4.346 s    10 runs
```

about 1.4 seconds of that is the time for the runner, of which .4 is the time for the linker. so
there may be room for further improving the times.

3f13ea39e2 cli: deprecate jj checkout
Summary: As discussed in Discord, on GitHub, and elsewhere, this change
deprecates the use of `jj checkout` and suggests users use `jj new` exclusively
instead. The verb `checkout` is a relic of a bygone era the — days of RCS
file locking, before 3-way merge — and is not a good, fitting name for the
functionality it provides.

To further drive the bit home, by default, `jj checkout` (and `jj co`) is now
hidden. This will hopefully stop new users from running into it.
